Home for sale: Gods Kingdom

Have you ever gone by a gorgeous neighborhood and thought to yourself, “oh man, I wish I lived there.”? I know that I absolutely have.

On our first flight to Greece from Charlotte to JFK, I was looking out the window with the sun reflecting off of the blue skies and the clouds. Being on a plane gives you a whole new view and most times, it’s absolutely stunning. As cheesy as it sounds, I turned to David and said, could you only imagine if when you were on a plane and above the clouds, you could look out the window and see Gods Kingdom? You know, sort of how the children’s illustrations are painted out to be. The glowing golden gates, the bright sun and the clouds all just below your feet.

How many people would look out the window and think that same thought? “Oh man, I wish I lived there.”. Probably every single person who laid their eyes on it, right? I guarantee it would be the most sought after place to be. But if that’s the case, then why isn’t it that way now?

Because you can’t physically see it.

As a believer of Christ, I know what God has in store is always way better than anything we could ever imagine. I’m confident in that. I whole heartedly trust His word, His promises. I’ve seen how He’s worked in my life as I’ve weathered storms and faced my own struggles. My faith has been tested but my confidence in Christ remains. But trusting in something you can’t see, is one of the biggest struggles people face in every aspect of life.

Unfortunately, Gods Kingdom doesn’t have listings on Zillow. We can’t look out the window. We can’t take a road trip to check it out and decide if the worldly sacrifices are worth it. I can also assure you there are certainly no realtors hosting open houses this weekend either. If you think the housing market down here is wild, the housing market to land property in heaven is even more straight and narrow.

But it’s worth it.

The path isn’t easy. you aren’t sure “exactly” what you’re getting. There are no specs, no square footage, and no pictures available. Gods Kingdom is sacred. The only way you’ll end up with your plot of land there is truly accepting the Lord as your savior. Trusting in Him. Believing He sent His only son to die for your own sins. It’s following the narrow path and listening to God’s word over the worlds word. We were born sinful in a very, very broken world. God chooses to love us anyways and in return, we choose to put our trust in Him until the day our home in Gods Kingdom is ready.

With love,

MC
